Cookbook “Currywurst und Grünzeug. Rezepte für die Kantine von morgen”
Kantine Zukunft
For “Kantine Zukunft”, nutritional change starts with lunch. The project uses workshops and events to turn canteens into places that offer healthy, sustainable and, above all, delicious food. With the cookbook “Currywurst und Grünzeug. Rezepte für die Kantine von morgen”, this philosophy is now being taken further into Germany’s canteen kitchens.
A magazine-like style gives the publication a fresh, contemporary look. The visual language picks up on the cool aesthetics of a canteen and thus deliberately sets itself apart from cookbooks for home use. When designing the book, the focus was on its function as a “workbook”. With its clarity and practical handling, it offers kitchen staff valuable support in their day-to-day work.
The structure of the content follows the seasons and ensures easy orientation. Generous introductory chapter pages show at a glance which fruit and vegetables are available in the respective season. The modular recipe pages are divided into the individual components of the dishes so that preparation can easily be divided between several members of staff.
A robust and extremely easy-care imitation linen was chosen for the cover. The cover design and endpapers pick up on the striking green color of the “Kantine Zukunft” corporate design. At the same time, the cookbook stands out as an independent publication, for example through the choice of its own typography.
