REDESIGN E-LEARNING DESIGN PACK

Hueber Verlag’s new e-learning design pack went live at the same time as the new generation of interactive textbooks. The aim of the redesign of the interactive exercises was to create a modern and fresh look and to meet the requirements of today’s user generation. In a joint workshop, we used the empathy map to gain a deep insight into the feelings and behavior of the users as a basis for measures and derivations. The redesign was shaped by the responsive requirements for an optimal experience on all end devices. Under the premise of »mobile first«, the existing design was checked for meaningfulness. The educational focus was also on the playful and sustainable transfer of knowledge. Gamification solutions such as »Catch« were established in the repertoire of exercise types, while unsuitable solutions were removed. For a clear sequence of exercise execution, we optimized the user guidance from screen to screen by reducing the number of elements and buttons. Learners are thus clearly guided and can focus on the content. In a collaborative exchange with our client, we developed a prototype and supervised its implementation in Avallain. We also provide regular training for the authors. From now on, the new design pack will be used as a consistent basis for all interactive textbooks.
