To mark the company’s 100th anniversary, we were asked to develop a suitable signet for one of the world’s leading language publishers – Hueber Verlag. A modern symbol that stands for both the long tradition and the attitude of the family business. The mutual learning of foreign languages connects people worldwide, overcomes borders and creates common ground. This important message, which was passed on by the grandfather and father of Managing Director Michaela Hueber, not least through their experiences in the two world wars, is reflected in the anniversary logo in the simplest possible way. Two speech bubbles, replacing the two zeros, form an intersection in the number 100 and symbolize: connecting languages. The choice of font, deliberately different from the existing corporate design, and the central arrangement are reminiscent of the elegance of the 1920s – the decade in which the company was founded. The signet offers flexibility for a wide variety of uses with three forms of application: for stand-alone use, in combination with the Hueber logo or text-free as a decorative element. This was summarized in a concise style guide.
