Exhibition catalog »Christo & Jeanne-Claude«
Centre Pompidou Paris
Paris is the city of love – and the place where the world-famous artist couple Christo and Jeanne-Claude met in 1958. It was here that they developed ideas and projects together and realized one of their first major works in public space in 1985 with the wrapping of the Pont Neuf. Artistically and privately, hardly any other place was as important for the two of them. On the occasion of the planned wrapping of the Arc de Triomphe in 2020, we produced the international, English edition of the last important catalog of works together with the Centre Pompidou Paris. Designed as a documentary, numerous early works, studies, drawings and collages underline the groundbreaking character of the Paris years. Time management was particularly challenging. However, the close and trusting collaboration with the Centre Pompidou team simplified much of the work. Christo’s death in the same year gave the book project a special significance.
